Neural Basis of Stress, Fear and Anxiety
The aim of this joint workshop is to promote and enhance collaborations of neuroscientists from research institutions of the State of São Paulo (Brazil) and the Free State of Bavaria (Germany), within the topic of Stress, Fear and Anxiety. As key states on research productivity and impact on each respective country, this is a strategic opportunity to enhance the research collaboration between Brazil and Germany. Both states are well represented on the topic of Stress, Fear and Anxiety, with established research groups on the field, and will greatly benefit from the strengthening of this transatlantic network.

More specifically, German researchers will contribute to Brazilian groups with know-how of cutting-edge techniques and advances still not fully implemented in Brazil; and Brazilian researchers will contribute to German groups with their expertise in more naturalistic experimental settings for behavioral research, and strong background on pharmacology. Besides, talented young researchers from both states will have the opportunity to learn about different methods and perspectives, and think of new creative ways of developing their own research projects. Also, cross-country internships for training and exchange of post-docs will be encouraged after the connections are made.
