Max Planck Day Clinic Transition
Offer for young people since July 1st 2025
The transition phase between the ages of 18 and 25 is a vulnerable time in life when symptoms of a mental disorder often appear for the first time. Our goal is to support young people during this time.
Mental illnesses often first appear between the ages of 18 and 25. Our goal is to support these young people, as well as those who are transitioning from child and adolescent psychiatry to adult psychiatry. We offer care and therapy in our day clinic, while patients spend nights and weekends at home in their familiar surroundings.
After a detailed diagnosis, the treatment team decides on the therapeutic steps to be taken together with the patients. Psychotherapy is a crucial element, supplemented by medication if necessary. Social-educational support as well as occupational, ergonomic, and sports therapy are further components. Neuropsychological training rounds off the nine-week stay.
We want to help young adults set the course for their future and get back on track in their lives after their stay (return to school, training or studies, career).
