Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy

When we experience psychological stress or disturbances, our basic functioning, how we perceive ourselves and our environment and our behavior can all be affected. We are no longer able to satisfy our basic needs and become burdened by symptoms of increased suffering. Functioning in everyday life is reduced or destroyed completely.

The goal of psychotherapy is to understand and manipulate these basic functions of an individual’s experience and behavior and their corresponding thoughts, feelings and beliefs. As such, psychotherapy is a core component in treating mental illness and reducing its symptoms.

We carry out psychotherapy in individual as well as in group therapy sessions. On request, we can also offer couple or family sessions. Group therapy succeeds through learning from one another and exchanging experience of therapeutic effects.
