Glia and the lasting impact of early-life adversity on cortical neuroplasticity in humans

Speaker: Naguib Mechawar, McGill University

Host: Janine Knauer-Arloth

This talk will present data generated with well-characterized human brain samples showing that childhood abuse has lasting consequences on perineuronal nets in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex; a phenomenon hypothesized to be mediated by glial cells, namely microglia, based on recent (unpublished) results.
